Let me be honest, I’m not rich! It’s a shocker. I know.
I am a working married mother of two small kids. I am also a teacher…so you really know I’m not rich!
I’m rich in life’s experiences but my bank account hasn’t caught up yet. I’m mentioning all of this to say that every little dollar that I have is precious. Whenever I find a legitimate way to earn extra money, I try to jump on it. Using the Ibotta app when I go grocery shopping is one way that I do that.

Last summer, I found another valid way to make a little money on the side—surveys! I’m a part of Facebook group for people striving for financial freedom. One of the group members mentioned that they earned several hundred dollars a month just by taking surveys online. I immediately sought out the survey sites that were mentioned, and began taking surveys and earning money.
If you’re looking for a way to earn extra money without even leaving your couch, you should consider online surveys. They are no fees to sign up and you earn actual cash that you can use to add to your household income. If you become dedicated, you can easily earn $100 per month. Get to know what all the hype is about regarding survey sites, what to look out for when joining, and also which sites to try out.

Why Would I Even Want to Take Online Surveys?
The appeal of doing online surveys is that essentially you are getting paid to do something that probably comes naturally to you. It’s easy to express your opinion about things. That latest Facebook post about why you thought your favorite reality star is a complete lunatic was what? It was your opinion, of course.
By far, the greatest part of doing online surveys is that you get money for doing them. You’re not going to be the next Warren Buffett, but you have the potential to make enough money for:
-Holiday shopping or shopping for yourself/children
-Bills
-Groceries
-Savings
What Are the Pros and Cons of Taking Online Surveys?
PROS
-You Can Earn Extra Money: As I mentioned before you can earn real cash just by taking a survey
-There’s an Unlimited Earning Potential: The more surveys you take, the more money you can make. Even better, if you are qualified for several high-paying surveys, you can make upwards to $100 just for ONE survey.
-There Are A Variety of Earning Methods: All of the survey sites that I will mention below also have other ways to earn money. You can earn money by watching videos, applying for free trials of products, playing online games, searching the internet (this can be done using Swagbucks) and even by shopping online. So, taking surveys is just one of the many ways to earn. If you get tired of doing surveys, you have other options.
CONS
-You’ll Receive Many Emails: When you sign up for some of these survey sites, they’ll begin to send you several emails each day. The emails alert you to surveys that you are eligible for. Initially, this annoyed me. I preferred to just log in to the site and view my available surveys. For most survey sites, you can change your email preferences so that you won’t get so many emails.
-It Requires Some Effort: This one is kind of obvious, but you have to do some work to get the results that you want. If you aren’t taking surveys regularly, you won’t earn money very quickly. Also, you might start off taking several low-paying surveys, which makes it more difficult to reach your desired cash goals.
-Surveys May Not Always Pay Much: On average, you can earn $3-$10 dollars on most surveys. It really depends on the information that you provide when you sign up. Based on your information, you may or may not be offered some of the higher-paying surveys. If you are lucky though, you WILL get qualified for the top-dollar surveys, and you’ll only need to do a few surveys per month to reach your desired earnings.
-You Often Earn Points First, Then Money: Each survey site have its own reward system when users complete surveys. Most will give you points that you later can redeem for gift cards or funds in a PayPal account. Only a handful of sites will actually give you cold hard cash right after completing a survey (Vindale Research is one site that gives cash instead of points). This might be annoying for some people, but it is nice to see your points rack up as you take surveys.
What Words Of Wisdom Can You Provide?
Sign up with a couple of different survey companies at the beginning. This just increases your chances of earning more money. You’ll get a feel for which companies are worth your time as compared to others. Focus on those sites and make a plan to take a certain number of surveys each day or each week. Come up with a goal amount that you would like to earn and strive for that goal.
